It’s just another Tuesday

It’s just another Tuesday

Just another day

Or so I thought!

In the morning I didn’t take your call and texted you

I’m so busy at work

and that I would ring you later

after work

By lunchtime I got a call

That shocked me to the core

To say that you had hung yourself

And that you were no more

I screamed your name and cried

Letting all my emotions out

But yet finding it impossible

to take in the words that had  just come out

It was like being in a nightmare

And I couldn’t get out

Then I was driven to your house

Doctor and Gardaí were there

Paramedics had just finished working on you

and hope was now no more

You’d passed over to the other side

Now on heavens shore

I walked into the sitting room to see you laying there

On the sofa

Your top all torn

From where paramedics had

been working on you

Myself and Vicky put a new top on you

Your dignity now restored

Whilst Vicky said a prayer over you

To our lady the mother of Our Lord

When I was alone with you

Your skin was still a little warm

I saw the red mark on your neck

And swore I’d love you forever more

You lay there so peacefully

No more struggles for you

Only shock and sadness

now left for your family to endure
