You Left Me Behind
You left me in this world
The place I call home
You left me in the dark
Now I’m all alone
Whispers in the wind
Whispers in my mind
Loving you was easy
Because you were kind
Sunrises in the morning
Bird songs fill the air
Another day begins
and I just don’t care
I put on the kettle
To have a wee brew
And ponder about life
Then my mind turns to you
If only we had more time
A future for me with you
Now there’s no new
memories to make
And I feel so blue
Whispers in the wind
Whispers in my mind
Loving you was easy
Because you were kind
I know that grieving isn’t easy
and it’s supposed to ease with time
But how do you fix a broken heart
And the one that was left behind
